Use Lection in Claude (MCP connector)
Claude can search YouTube videos, list channel uploads and read comments through Lection. Sign in with your Lection account and Claude can also check your plan, your schedules and runs, and set up new scheduled exports.
What it does
YouTube research, no sign-in
Search videos by keyword, list a channel latest uploads or pull the top comments on a public video. Up to 20 rows per call.
Your schedules and runs
See each schedule with its cadence, next run and last status, and open the rows from a saved scrape or a run.
Set up exports
Create a recurring schedule from a saved scrape, or pause one, with your confirmation first.
Set it up
5 steps, about ten minutes the first time.
Open Claude connector settings
In Claude, go to Settings, then Connectors, and choose Add custom connector.
Paste the connector URL
Use https://www.lection.app/mcp/account for the full set, including your schedules and runs. Use https://www.lection.app/mcp if you only want the free YouTube tools and no sign-in.
Sign in to Lection
For account tools, Claude opens the Lection sign-in page. Sign in and click Allow on the consent screen.
Ask in a new chat
Start a chat and ask for what you need. Claude calls the tools it needs and returns the results as tables.
Confirm before anything changes
Claude confirms the saved scrape, cadence and destination with you before it creates a schedule. You can disable or remove the connector from the same settings page.
What you can ask
- Show the top YouTube videos about n8n automation tutorials.
- List the latest videos from @OpenAI.
- Get the top comments on this YouTube video: <paste the link>.
- What are my Lection schedules, and did the last runs succeed?
- Show the rows from my saved scrape "competitor prices".
- Schedule my saved scrape weekly and deliver it to Google Sheets.
Privacy
- The YouTube tools read public data through the official YouTube Data API. Results are returned to your chat.
- Account tools only read or change your own Lection data, and only after you sign in with OAuth.
- Creating or pausing a schedule happens in your own account and respects your plan limits.
Example use cases
Video research for a content brief
Ask Claude for the top videos on a topic, then the comments on the two best ones, in one conversation.
Checking scheduled exports
Ask which schedules ran today and which ones failed, before you rely on the numbers in a report.
Turning a saved scrape into a schedule
Pick a saved scrape you already trust, set a weekly cadence and send the rows to Google Sheets or a webhook.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Lection account?
Not for the YouTube tools at https://www.lection.app/mcp. Schedules, runs and saved scrapes need a free Lection account, which you sign in to from the connector.
Which URL should I add?
Use https://www.lection.app/mcp/account for Claude. It requires sign-in from the first request, so Claude starts OAuth and can reach your account tools. Use https://www.lection.app/mcp if you only need the public YouTube tools and do not want a sign-in prompt.
Does Claude see my scraped data?
Claude sees the results of the tools it runs in that chat, such as a list of schedules or a table of rows. It does not get access to the rest of your account.
Can Claude change my account?
Claude can create or pause schedules after you confirm. It has no tools to delete data or change billing. The tools are: Three YouTube tools (search, channel uploads, comments), a help tool for Instagram and LinkedIn exports, and seven account tools for your plan, saved scrapes, schedules and runs, plus creating and pausing schedules.
