Lection + Zapier: send scraped web data to 7,000+ apps

Lection runs your scrapes on a schedule. Zapier takes each finished run from there and sends the rows to Google Sheets, Airtable, Slack, a CRM or any other app in its catalog.

Zapier app (beta)Requires: A plan with webhook delivery: Standard, Professional or the 30-day Standard trial. Zapier triggers do not run on the free plan.

What it does

Trigger: new rows from a scheduled scrape

Starts a Zap when a scheduled run succeeds with rows. Limit it to one schedule or follow all of them.

Trigger: run finished

Starts a Zap for each finished run, including failed ones, so you can branch on status.

Action: run schedule now

Start one of your schedules on demand, for example when a form is submitted.

Action: create schedule

Turn a saved scrape into a recurring hourly, daily or weekly schedule.

Search: find schedule

Look up a schedule by name and pass its ID to the next step.

Set it up

5 steps, about ten minutes the first time.

  1. 1

Find the Lection app in Zapier

Create a Zap and search for Lection (beta). The app is in private beta, so if it does not appear for your account, use the webhook route linked below.

  2. 2

    Connect your Lection account

Zapier asks you to sign in to Lection and approve access. Lection uses OAuth, so you do not type your Lection password into Zapier.

  3. 3

    Pick a trigger

Choose New rows from a scheduled scrape or Run finished. Optionally pick one schedule. Zapier registers the trigger with Lection for you.

  4. 4

Add an action or a search

Use Run schedule now, Create schedule (pick a saved scrape and a cadence) or Find schedule to look up a schedule ID by name.

  5. 5

Test and turn the Zap on

Run a test and confirm the rows reached your app, then publish the Zap. To skip the wait for the next run, click Run now on the schedule in Lection.

Not on the Zapier beta yet? Send runs through a Zapier Catch Hook instead. The webhook guide covers the steps. Zapier webhook guide

Example use cases

Competitor price tracking

Scrape a competitor's product or pricing page on a schedule. Each finished run adds its rows to a Google Sheet or an Airtable base.

Lead lists from Google Maps and directories

Run a Google Maps or directory results page on a schedule and send each new batch of businesses to your CRM or a shared sheet.

Instagram comment reporting

Schedule the comments on a post and send each run to a sheet or a Slack channel for a weekly report.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Zapier app available to everyone?

Not yet. The Zapier app is in private beta. The webhook route works today: send each run to a Zapier Catch Hook on a Standard or Professional plan. The step-by-step guide is at /tutorials/webhooks/zapier.

Which plan do I need?

Triggers use webhook delivery, so you need Standard, Professional or the 30-day Standard trial. The free plan delivers by email only.

Will a Zap fire for failed scrapes?

Run finished fires for every finished run, failed ones included, and includes the run status. The new-rows trigger only sends runs that succeeded.

Can Zapier pause or delete my schedules?

No. The Zapier actions create schedules, run them now and find them by name. Pausing and other changes stay in the Lection dashboard.

What happens if Zapier stops receiving runs?

Lection retries failed deliveries on its next sweep. After repeated failures it removes the trigger, so check your Zap if runs stop arriving.
