How to Export Bluesky Followers

Bluesky shows a follower list on every profile but has no button to download it. This tool reads that same public list from Bluesky's open API, page by page, and turns it into a spreadsheet. Enter a handle, click Export Followers, and download CSV, Excel, or JSON.

The requests go from your browser directly to Bluesky's public API. You are not logged in to anything and no Lection server sits in the middle.

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Enter a handle

Type a Bluesky handle such as name.bsky.social, a custom-domain handle, or paste the bsky.app profile link.

Step 2

Click Export Followers

The list loads 100 accounts at a time. Set Max Rows if you only want the first few thousand, or press Stop at any point.

Step 3

Download your file

Download CSV, Excel, or JSON. Downloads use credits (1 per 100 rows); a free account includes 5 credits a month.

What You Get

One row per account, with these columns. The same file downloads as CSV, Excel, or JSON. Bluesky's list endpoints do not include bios or follower counts, so those are not in the export.

ColumnWhat it holds
HandleThe account handle, such as name.bsky.social or a custom domain.
Display NameThe display name the account set (empty if none).
Profile URLA link that opens the profile on bsky.app.
DIDThe permanent decentralized ID. It stays the same if the handle changes.
Avatar URLLink to the profile picture.
Profile CreatedWhen the account profile record was created, as an ISO 8601 UTC timestamp.
Indexed AtWhen Bluesky last indexed the account.

Honest Limits

  • Public data only. The tool reads what any visitor can see, so it cannot export private data or anything behind a login.
  • No bios or follower counts. Bluesky's follower list returns identity fields only.
  • Exports stop at 100,000 rows or your Max Rows value. For accounts with millions of followers, expect only the most recent followers.
  • Counts can differ slightly from the profile, because deleted and hidden accounts are left out of the list.
  • If Bluesky rate limits your connection, the tool waits and retries, and keeps whatever has already loaded.

What People Use It For

  • Audience research: see who follows an account in your niche, or compare two creators' audiences in a spreadsheet.
  • Backing up your own follower list before you migrate handles or domains.
  • Building a list of accounts to follow back, mute, or add to a starter pack.
  • Tracking follower growth by exporting now and again and comparing the files.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I export my Bluesky followers?
Type your handle (for example name.bsky.social) or paste your bsky.app profile link above and click Export Followers. When the list loads, download it as CSV, Excel, or JSON. You do not need to log in.
Can I export the followers of any Bluesky account?
Yes, for any public account. Bluesky followers are public data, so the tool reads the same list anyone can see on a profile. You can use your own handle or someone else's.
Do I need a Bluesky login, an app password, or an API key?
No. The tool reads Bluesky's public API straight from your browser, so there is nothing to log into and no password to share. The Lection extension is not needed either.
Is there a limit on how many followers I can export?
Lection stops at 100,000 rows per export, or at the Max Rows value you set. Bluesky returns 100 accounts per request, and a list of a couple of thousand followers loads in a few seconds. Downloads need a free Lection account and use credits: 1 credit per 100 rows, with 5 free credits every month. Loading and previewing the list is free.
What is in the exported file?
Handle, display name, profile URL, DID, avatar URL, the profile creation time, and the time Bluesky indexed the account. Bluesky's follower list does not include bios or follower counts, so those columns are not available.
Why does the export have fewer rows than the follower count on the profile?
Bluesky leaves deleted, deactivated, and hidden accounts out of the lists it serves, while the profile count can still include them. The results bar shows both numbers so you can see the gap.
Can I get the export into Google Sheets?
Yes. Download the CSV and use File > Import in Google Sheets, or open the Excel file in Sheets. To keep a sheet refreshed automatically, use Lection's Sheets export.
Does it follow, unfollow, or message anyone?
No. The tool only reads public lists. It never logs in, follows, blocks, or posts, and it cannot read private data.
